"THE STORY OF JUBILEE" - "relive the legacy........."
Our mission statement: "To educate as we entertain; preserving the legacy and contributions of the original Fisk Jubilee Singers, whose efforts changed the treatment of 'Coloreds' in education, transportation and lodging.

By 1878, a group of newly-freed slaves who ultimately became known as the original Fisk Jubilee Singers had earned $170,000 singing spirituals as a form of entertainment to White audiences, Kings, Queens, Diplomates and President Ulysses S. Grant. These funds purchased the land and constructed the first permanent structure for the education of African-
Americans, “Jubilee Hall”, on the campus of Nashville’s Fisk University.
This is their story........
